It’s been a busy few weeks at Red Dog Renewables, and we wouldn’t have it any other way. As the Pilbara’s demand for electric vehicle (EV) servicing continues to grow, our newly expanded facility at 1943 Anderson Road, Karratha is fast taking shape — and it’s already buzzing with activity.
We’re a local, Karratha-based business, offering electric-vehicle solutions for remote operations

Serving the Pilbara Region and Western Australia.
Hosted at our new facility at 1943 Anderson Road in Karratha, the event brought together community members, industry partners, local businesses, government representatives, and families to celebrate the next step in building local capability for electric vehicles across the Pilbara.
From EV demonstrations to a look behind the scenes of the new workshop, the launch was the perfect showcase of what’s possible when innovation, community, and regional development come together.
A Shared Vision for Regional Innovation
One of the highlights of the evening was the acknowledgement of the support that helped turn this project into reality.
We extend our sincere thanks to Simon Taylor from the Pilbara Development Commission and the Regional Economic Development (RED) Program for their belief in this venture and the $250,000 grant that contributed to the development of this facility.
This partnership reflects a shared vision: building long-term capability in the Pilbara and ensuring regional communities have access to the same clean-technology opportunities found in metropolitan centres.
Cutting the Ribbon
We were honoured to have Kevin Michel MLA officially cut the ribbon and mark the centre’s opening. His support underscores the importance of local industry leadership in Western Australia’s broader decarbonisation journey.
With EV adoption rising across regional WA, having a purpose-built servicing centre in Karratha sends a strong signal: the Pilbara is ready to lead.
Community at the Heart
Events like this don’t come together without community support.
A big thank you goes to Karratha Community House for keeping the kids entertained throughout the afternoon and assisting with event operations. Their involvement helped create a truly welcoming, family-friendly environment.
We also want to recognise the many local businesses who have supported us along the way, from early encouragement, to collaboration, to trusting us with EV deployments and servicing needs. Your backing has been a key driver in bringing this facility to life.
What the New EV Servicing Centre Offers
Guests were invited to tour the new workshop and see firsthand what the facility now provides, including:
Rapid EV charging
Specialist diagnostics and EV tooling
Three new hoists for expanded servicing capacity
EV and hybrid maintenance for both private and fleet vehicles
Support for mine-spec and remote operational EVs
The centre has been designed to meet the needs of a region that works hard, thinks big, and continues to embrace innovation.
A Look Toward the Future
The launch marks a significant step in our commitment to supporting the Pilbara’s net-zero goals. As EV adoption grows and more organisations explore how electric transport can fit into their operations, having a reliable, local servicing hub removes one of the biggest barriers to transition.
This facility is only the beginning.
With new equipment on the way, additional training underway, and more EV solutions entering the region, including everything from fleet vehicles to our newly acquired LiveWire Harley-Davidson, we’re excited for what comes next.
Thank You, Pilbara
To everyone who joined us, supported us, and continues to champion renewable innovation across the region, thank you. This facility exists because the Pilbara community believes in progress, capability, and a clean-energy future.
Here’s to the road ahead.
Cleaner. Smarter. Pilbara tough.
